Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome Back!  Our brand-new classroom is a new environment for our PreK-3 108 children to explore!  This month we will discuss an “All About Me” theme as the children are getting to know their peers.  I sent home a brown paper bag (which you may decorate if you like) for you and your child to fill with small objects/pictures describing themselves.  I can not wait to see the items and learn more about what makes your child unique.

We will begin an Apple theme, discuss the change in weather and everything that changes in the environment as Autumn approaches.  We will begin learning our letters, starting with the letter “A,a”.  We will be able to identify, recognize, say the sound, and practice how to form the letter on paper.  In Mathematics, we will be learning to identify the numbers 0 to 5.  We will start with zero and continue to review each number.  We will begin to practice fine motor skills as the children learn to trace straight and zigzag lines.  We will will practice how to hold a crayon and a pencil properly.  In Religion, we will practice the forms of the sign of the cross, the grace meal prayer and the Our Father prayer.  The children will engage in exciting arts and crafts activities.

If you have an questions please do not hesitate to ask me.  Write me a note in your child’s folder, email or send me a remind message!
