Please be aware I will not be available for any “live” sessions until further notice due to 8th Grade Graduation preparations. If you have any questions about the assignment, please private message me on google classroom or email me. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.  Continue the great job you have been doing!!!

Anyone who is missing past assignments, when you do submit it, please email me and let me know which assignment/s you are handing in so I can go back and grade them. Please continue to do your best and stay safe.

Tuesday – BrainPop Assignment on the solar system. Please take the quiz online.
Please complete the attached worksheets based on the BrainPop video. You may go back and watch the video as many times as you want.

Class News Letter

    Here are some things the students will be working on in their subjects:

 5th Grade: 

  • What is gravity?
  • What things help people deal with the effects of energy?
  • What is a sundial?
  • What do you know about the sun over the course of the day?
  • What are constellations?

      6th Grade:           

  • What are renewable resources?
  • What are nonrenewable resources? 
  • How do people affect the environment?
  • How do people affect the land?

7th Grade:           

  • A review of the Digestion and Excretion: calories, nutrition, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, 
  • A review of the DIgestive system: digestion, chemical and mechanical digestion, enzymes, esophagus, chyme, villi
  • A review of the Excretory System: kidney, nephrons, urine, ureter, bladder, urethra, 

 

8th Grade: 

  • Review of Geologic History and the Evolution of Life: eons, eras, epochs periods, mass extinction, land bridge, geographic isolation
  • Review of the Paleozoic Era: Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic Era, inland sea, coal swamp, supercontinent
  • Review of Mesozoic Era: dinosaurs, Plesiosaurs, Pterosaurs, 
  • Review of the Cenozoic: Holocene Era, ice age, glacial grooves, mega-mammals

Monday – complete and read pages 286, 289, 290, 291. Answer questions 22, 23, 2, 3,4,5, 6, and the lesson round up page (A,B,C,D)

Wednesday – complete and read pages 293, 294, 295, 296.  Answer questions 1,2,3,4,5.  For extra points you may answer #6.  (This is not mandatory)

Thursday -watch video and complete worksheet. 

 

6th Grade Science:

Monday – read pages 340-346. Complete worksheets.  For class be prepared to open up another screen.

For Thursday class, we will be breaking into break out rooms for group discussions (Hopefully it works..lol).  You will be assigned a certain room and I will be popping into each room to monitor discussions.  More information will follow throughout the week.

5th Grade Science

This week we are going to Explore the Solar System. You have a week to complete all parts of this small unit. Click on the first two links to read and explore the slides about the solar system. Then compete the worksheets. You may also use the internet as another reference guide. I also provided you with different diagram in regards to the Solar System. Please upload the worksheets to the correct locations for them to be marked. Enjoy exploring the Solar System. Listen to the silly song I provided or you as you work to help you out. All work is due by 5/8.

Objective:  you are given the exciting task of creating the front page of your very own newspaper.  

You will create a newspaper based on a topic of your choice. Using the templates provided, you will create the front page of a newspaper. You will write a main article with a headline and add extra newspaper features to complete the front page.

This week you will be learning about the digestive system.
Read pages 530 to 537 (chapter 15, Lesson2)
Please read outline of notes I have provided for you
Your task for this week is to pick two different stations that interest you.

When finished, all stations will be uploaded to two different sections provided in your classwork section.Please upload each station separately.
All stations are to be handed in by Sunday, May 7th
This will be counted as a project grade.

I have provided extra worksheets on the explanation of each system. Please print out and put into your science notebook, along with the outline.
Please see attachments on all the different stations.
