Ms. Isola’s Class Christmas Pageant Information

Saint Helen’s Annual Christmas Pageant – Friday, December 14th, 2018

Arrival: There will be two sessions, one session at 12:30 pm and another at 6:30 pm in Father Dooley Hall. 
 
Attire: Please have your child come dressed up in their best outfits. The colors to wear for the Christmas Pageant are red or green. Black dress pants, dresses, skirts are allowed. However, please remember not to send your child in wearing jeans. 🙂
 
Dismissal: There will be a regular school day dismissal for the show that begins at 12:30 pm. 
 
At the 6:30pm show, our class will be dismissing from Saint Helen’s main doors in front of the building. We will NOT dismiss from Father Dooley Hall. Please stand close by so I can help the students dismiss promptly and safely.

Kindergarten Newsletter

December 10th- 14th

 

Hello Parents!  This week the students will listen and respond to stories and retell important facts heard in a text. In writing we will continue learning different ways that we can get ideas for our writing.

 

In religion, we will continue learning about when Jesus was born and the different ways that we can celebrate Jesus’ birth.

 

In math, we will begin learning about ordinal numbers first through fifth to identify position.

 

In science, the students will continue to learn about speed and motion.

 

In social studies we will discuss the different between past and present by looking at photos.

 

Reminders:

  1. On December 11th, there will be a Bake Sale in the cafeteria.
  2. On December 14th is our annual Christmas Pageant with two sessions, one session at 12:30 pm and another at 6:30 pm. Please have your child come dressed up in their best outfits. Kindergarten Newsletter

November 26th-30th

 

Hello Parents!  This week the students will continue learning about different types of transportation. We will read different stories about transportation and will practice the skill compare and contrast. In writing, we will learn how to visualize by painting a picture in our mind and then labeling the pictures we draw.

 

In religion, we are going to focus on different types of animals from different places and will explain different ways that we can care for all of God’s creation.

 

In math, we will be learning how to draw a picture to represent numbers. The students will be able to identify, draw and show groups of different numbers.

 

In science, the students will continue learning about motion and using observation to investigate motion.

 

In social studies we will learn about different types of primary sources.

 

Our class won 1st place in the Walk-A-Thon this year!!! We will be having a pizza party on Wednesday, December 5th in our classroom for lunch! On this day, do not send your child into school with lunch unless they do not eat pizza.

 

Reminder: The last day of Math Games for Kindergarten was on 11/20. There will not be any more sessions for Math Games.

Weekly Newsletter 11/13

Kindergarten Newsletter

November 13th- 16th

 

This week the students will begin working in guided reading groups. We will be practicing letters r, h and d. We will recognize these letters and hear its initial and final sounds in words.

 

In math, the students will be learning how to compare two different groups. We will be having a math test on chapter 3. A review sheet will be sent home this week.

 

In Religion the students will be discussing how we can celebrate the gift of animals and how to live as Jesus did.

 

In Social Studies the students will be learning about different primary sources. We will also discuss the past and present.

 

In Science the students will be discovering how to plan and conduct investigations on changing the speed of objects.

 

Some upcoming events are:

 

  1. On November 20th, there will be a bake sale.
  2. On November 21st there will be mass at 9:00am as well as an 11:30 dismissal.
  3. The school is closed on November 22nd and 23rd for Thanksgiving break.
