Dear Parents,

Dental Health Month, Valentines Day, The 7 days of creation, and the 100th day of school are just a handful of things we will be covering this month!  The dentist will come to visit our classroom and teach the students about the importance of healthy snacks and brushing their  teeth.  Letters k-n will be covered, and numbers up until 8 to be both written and comprehended.

We will create beautiful art projects, and learn about the role of our President.  We will vote on our favorite snack, color, and the children will hang their flag projects around our room for the school to enjoy!

Be Well,

Mrs. Viola

January News

Posted on January 3, 2019

Dear Parents,

Welcome to January!   We are learning about winter animals, climate, and ways to stay warm!  Why do animals hibernate and who does or does not need to hibernate in this type of weather!?  The students will express what they learn through both art work, and written instruction.

In social studies I will be teaching about Dr. Martin Luther King and his dreams for the world we live in.  The students will be taught about his desire for the world to not see color, but understand equality through America.

In religion we will discuss light/dark and the world God created.  God made different colors, people, and animals for us to enjoy on a daily basis.  We will work on letters H-K, and review numbers 0-6 this month as well.

Be Well,

Mrs. Viola

December News

Posted on December 10, 2018

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Happy December…the busiest & most merry time of the year. This month will be filled with fun, learning, and getting read for the arrival of baby Jesus. We will be learning about Advent, discussing the Birth of Jesus, and making artwork to hang in our homes for the holiday.

Our pattern & matching skills, and letter sounds are reviewed on a daily basis. We will be up to the letter I by Christmas break, and are holding pencils and crayons nicely. The year is moving quickly, please make sure to take the time out to read to your children and promote the beginning letter sounds. I am excited to hear all about the family traditions, presents, and holiday joy this month has to offer. I wish your families the best of the New Year, and a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for all that you do with your children. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful class this year.

Be Well,

Mrs. Viola

November News

Posted on November 5, 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Happy November!  During this month we have a lot to learn!  We will focus on the season change, meaning of Thanksgiving, and understanding Jesus.  I have been working on prayers, The Pledge of Allegiance, as well as some various holiday songs each day.

Are Scarecrows real?  Why are they used?  We will discuss scarecrows and why farmers need them in the fall growing season.  The class will also make a scarecrow and their own individual Thanksgiving decorations.

Be Well,

Mrs. Viola
