All You Need to Know

Ms. A’s important info and check list 

  • Get ready for a great year in Pre-K!
  • Do not hesitate to contact me for any questions or concerns at any time throughout the school year. My email address is
  • Please dress your child in comfortable clothes each day so that they are easily able to use the bathroom. (In case of accidents please send in a complete change of clothes, including socks.)
  • Arrival time for our class is 8:30 at the 83rd Street doors. Dismissal is at the same doors at 12:30 for half day students and 2:30 for full day students. Our class will be dismissed at 11:35 for all academy half days. 
  • Your little one’s birthday may be celebrated in class, if you so choose. For right now, as a result of new safety precautions, please no cupcakes or food items – However, you may send in stickers, etc. Parents unfortunately are not permitted to classrooms for parties. (I make sure to take tons of pictures and send them to you, so that you can still experience their special day!)

Please also make sure that:

  • All of your child’s belongings are labeled.
  • That the MONKEY folder comes back and forth to school each day.
  • Each school day before 7:30, you complete the health questionnaire that will be sent to you via email. Please also stay up to date on any changes in academy safety precautions. 
  • AM snacks (for all students) and PM snacks (for full day students only) are sent in separate Ziploc or brown paper bags, labeled with your child’s name name and “AM”/”PM” clearly visible. Please note that snacks should be separate from their lunch box to help ensure that each child gets their correct meals and that unpacking in the morning goes as smoothly as possible. Be reminded that deliveries/dropping off food at lunch time is unfortunately, no longer permitted for safety precautions. Please send your child to school with their lunches in the morning.
  • All google forms (photo permission, handbook, etc) emailed to you were completed and sent back.
  • Your child’s medical form (which can be found on our school’s website) is completed and on file with Nurse Karen.

A New Year

Dear Pre-K4 109/111 Parents, 

I’ve been busy getting our two rooms ready for the start of our school year and as you can see cannot wait to welcome them into their classrooms! I know it’s going to be a great year and I am so excited to get to know and teach each of your special little ones!

I look forward to seeing Cohort 1 for their first day of school Wednesday, September 16th from 8:30-10:30 and Cohort 2 for their first day of school Thursday, September 17th from 8:30-10:30.

To ensure it’s the best, safest, and healthiest school year possible please send all items on the supply list (below)  the first week of school and please have all items labeled with your child’s name.

  • Medium size backpack
  • Lunch box 
  • Art box with a box of jumbo size crayons, a safety scissor, a bottle of Elmer’s glue, 2 glue sticks, and sharpened pencils (fatter pencils like Ticonderoga My First Triwrite, My First Pencil, or Beginners Pencils are great for little hands and early writing) all labeled with your child’s name.
  • 2 boxes tissues
  • 2 packages of baby wipes
  • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
  • Receiving blanket to be used during rest time in a bag labeled with your child’s name (for full day students only)
  • Complete change of clothing, including socks, in a bag labeled with child’s name in case of any accidents
  • A $30.00 holiday craft fee donation. This will cover all holiday crafts for the school year. Please make checks payable to St. Helen Catholic Academy.
